Autumn Brilliance Serviceberry

Amelanchier x grandiflora 'Autumn Brilliance'

A named cultivar of apple serviceberry, this plant is selected for the explosion of fall color that vibrates off the leaves each autumn. Grow this beauty as a graceful and petite single tree - it does not produce suckers the way most Amelanchier genus members do. In the spring, the pink buds open to a mass of large white flowers. Then the new bronze-purple leaves appear followed in July by large red berries favored by birds and people. In the autumn, the then-green leaves turn brilliant variations of orange-red.

These are very winter hardy plants. Autumn Brilliance tolerates a variety of soils, but prefers neutral or slightly acid pH. It is self fertile and long- lived.

USDA Zone: 4-8

Mature Size: 15'+

Sun: Full Sun

Pollination: Self-Fertile
