Dwarf Mulberry

Morus spp. 'Dwarf Everbearing'

Small space requirements, but full-sized berries. This tree makes baskets of medium, black mulberries so sweet there’s no need to add sugar! Even pruned down this tree is a lovely specimen tree whose fruit will keep you in jam winter long. Berries also freeze very well for long term storage. Leaves of Morus spp. can be dried for a good black tea substitute, or fed to any homestead critters you may be raising - they are very high in protein and great fresh or dried for rabbits, chickens, goats, and sheep.

For 2025 this tree is not grafted; it's grown on its own roots so it can safely be coppiced for size or as fodder. Young trees benefit from consistent watering during first two years of establishment - somewhat drought tolerant as adult trees.

Cold Hardy to USDA Zone: 6

Mature Height: 10-15'

Sun: Full Sun

Ripening Time: August-October

Pollination: Self-Fertile
