Lemon Guava
Psidium cattleianum var. littorale 'Lemon'
Lemon "strawberry" guava can help you bring the taste of the tropics indoors! This native Brazillian bush can be widely grown as a potted indoor/outdoor shrub that produces regular yields of crispy, tart and aromatic 1"- 2" inch round yellow fruit with a sweet and juicy pulp! Unlike regular subtropical guavas of the Acca family, the Pisidium "strawberry guava" has small, leathery evergreen leaves of a lovely, shiny medium green.
Lemon guava is cold hardy to 23 degrees F, so plan to grow in a pot and bring indoors in colder zones. When planted in-ground it becomes a sturdy, self-fertile 10-15 foot shrub or small tree. These seedlings are reliably self-fertile but planting more than 1 can increase yields.
Cold Hardy to USDA Zone: 10
Mature Height: 10'-15'
Sun: Full Sun
Ripening Time: August
Pollination: Self Fertile
