Sweet Treat Pluerry

Prunus x 'Sweet Treat'

This Sweet Treat was the first of the interspecific crosses created by the prolific modern breeder Fred Zaiger to carry the name pluerry (plum/sweet cherry cross, with bits other prunus family members like apricot and peach). It looks like a rounded, red Asian plum, and the flavor is mostly plum as well, but the cherry brings lots more sweetness and complexity. Clingstone, with lovely amber flesh and a surprisingly small pit.

Reliably pollinated by Asian plums like Toka, Shiro and Beauty, this ripens late and is worth the wait.

Hardy to USDA Zone: 6

Mature Height:  12'

Sun: Full Sun

Ripening Time: Late

Pollination: Needs a Pollinizer

Rootstock: Myro 29C
