The Beast™ Filbert is a high-yielding hybrid hazelnut (Corylus avellana x americana) celebrated for its vigorous growth, exceptional disease resistance, and adaptability to colder regions. Originally developed by the Hybrid Hazelnut Consortium—Rutgers University, Oregon State University, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and the Arbor Day Foundation—The Beast™ was bred specifically for the Eastern and Midwestern United States where Eastern Filbert Blight (EFB) presents a major grower challenge. Produces an abundance of small, round nuts.
