Honeycrisp Apple

Malus domestica 'Honeycrisp'

Pick this superior red apple with a crunchy/crisp texture! Honeycrisp boasts a juicy, sweet-tart flavor when picked early, but develops its full-bodied, aromatic profile if left to fully ripen in the mid-late season. Created by the University of Minnesota, you can plan to enjoy it fresh, dried, juiced - it also makes for a good storage apple!

Honeycrisp is one of our most winter-hardy apple trees, showing little damage even at -40°F! Honeycrisp does display low vigor, a tendency toward biennial bearing, some heat intolerance, and can be a little challenging, especially for new growers. If you have had good luck with apples in the past, it's time to try Honeycrisp!
